Involving Youth

ADT works with a variety of non-profits that introduce young people to experiences with animals that change their lives. One of these organizations that we support is Horses In The Hood, which does amazing work with inner city kids. ADT helps to educate the kids and the staff regarding how to care for horses. Forming emotional bonds with the horses, the other riders and the staff help the young people to have a sense of connection and personal growth. ADT also assists young riders at competitions, an endeavor that builds character, coping skills, and provides a well-rounded life experience that is attractive to school and job recruiters.
ADT uses both the Sanctuary and the Crown City Veterinary Medical Group facility in Pasadena as a venue for young people to learn about the care of animals. Local public and private school students go behind the scenes of our professional veterinary clinic to learn about animal care and about the real-life experiences of veterinary professionals. ADT also works in conjunction with other non-profits, like Ideal Youth, that inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy through job readiness training. ADT also uses the Sanctuary to provide lessons in agriculture and sponsors nature walks in nearby Eaton Canyon to earn about wild animals and our natural habitat.
